WRITING

Tyler is the author of the art book (prose poems and photographs) American Flowers, and four chapbooks, including Modern Camping, which was selected by John Yau for a Poetry Society of America fellowship. His work (poetry, prose, criticism) has appeared in venues such as BOMB, Denver Quarterly, Black Warrior Review, Washington Square Review, Catapult, and numerous others. He has completed and is working to find a home for two novels and is at work on a third, as well as a nonfiction book on masculinity, fatherhood, and vulnerability.

EDITING: Since 2009, Tyler has co-edited and published the journal and press Tammy. He also manages the journal Unearthed.

ART: Photographs will return to this site soon. Some painting and cover design work can be seen in these Tammy chapbooks.

EDUCATION: Tyler is currently Assistant Professor and Director of the Writing Program at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry, where he teaches writing and storytelling.
